This Lu-Mi instrument is a viola after Gasparo da Sálo circa 1580. Gasparo da Salo violas are still considered among the best, and many prestigious soloists have chosen them. This is the large scale model.

Gasparo da Sálo 1580 (large model)

This Lu-Mi instrument is a viola after Antonius Stradivarius. This particular model has been often copied. It is an excellent and versatile instrument to play both earlier and later repertoire. This model looks similar to the Lu-Mi Stradivari model violin.

Antonius Stradivari

This Lu-Mi instrument is a tenor viola after Gasparo da Sálo. Tenor violas are ideal especially for earlier repertoire as such instruments were commonly used in 17th Century. This tenor viola is not particularly large and is thus very playable. The neck is short by modern standards with a string length of 38 cm. This tenor is similar in appearance to the large model viola.
